Dimension: Legal / Numbers

The legal dimension aims to provide an overview of the laws, regulations and compliance related to the data economy for food systems. Overall, this dimension has a more qualitative nature, but it also includes some quantitative indicators. For example, some of the indicators proposed for this dimension assess the compliance with different regulations (e.g., GDPR compliance - measured through the number of fines received by stakeholders in the agri-food sectors related to various policies and regulations) or evaluates the intellectual property (IPR) initiatives (e.g., through patent applications initiated by stakeholders from or with applicability in the food systems).
