About the Initiative

PIGLink is a data-sharing initiative under development that aims to improve interoperability across the pig sector. It enables secure and consent-based data exchange between farm equipment, management software, and sector stakeholders through a common interoperability framework. By reducing duplicate data entry and facilitating data sharing, PIGLink seeks to improve farm management, support regulatory compliance, and create new value from farm data.

Main Value Created

PIGLink creates value by enabling interoperability between existing systems in the pig value chain. Through standardised interfaces and consent-based data exchange, it reduces administrative burden for farmers, improves the quality and usability of farm data, and supports better decision-making, traceability, animal welfare monitoring, and compliance with sector requirements.
