About the Initiative
DIH AGRIFOOD DATA SPACE is a federated data-sharing platform for the agri-food sector, built on shared policies, rules, and a governance model that safeguard data sovereignty, transparency, and ethical data management. Beyond technology, DADS provides an overall framework to accelerate the digital transformation of the agri-food sector, with a focus on environmental, economic, and social sustainability. It primarily targets actors across agriculture and food supply chains in Slovenia, while also aiming to connect with the wider region and other data spaces. DADS is technically provided and managed by ITC – Innovation Technology Cluster Murska Sobota, and governed under the umbrella of DIH AGRIFOOD, a non-formal network of agri-food stakeholders, according to the DADS Rulebook.

Through its governance model, rulebook, and technical infrastructure, it supports data sovereignty, transparent access control, and compliance with the EU Code of Conduct on Agricultural Data Sharing.
Its Data Market adds a practical discovery layer, allowing data offerings and services to be published, found, and accessed under shared rules. In this way, DADS helps agri-food actors turn fragmented data into reusable value for innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across the food system.
